1. About the Company
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website, enrolment forms, communications, and educational services operated by Al-Haneeph Academy Ltd (Company Registration Number RC 9194408), a private limited company incorporated under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (the "Company", "Al-Haneeph Academy", "we", "us", or "our").
Registered / operating address for correspondence: No. 2, Shosanya, Gbagada, Lagos State, Nigeria. Primary contact: info@alhaneephacademy.com; admissions: admissions@alhaneephacademy.com; telephone: +234 802 237 6756.
Al-Haneeph Academy provides live, one-on-one online instruction in Arabic language, Quranic studies (including Tajweed), and Islamic studies for children, teenagers, and adults worldwide.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing our website, submitting a registration or enquiry, paying tuition, attending a class, or otherwise using our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you are registering a student under 18 years of age, you represent that you are the student's parent or legal guardian (or are duly authorised by them) and that you accept these Terms on the student's behalf.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our website or services.
3. Definitions
- "Student" means the individual receiving instruction.
- "You" / "Client" means the student (if 18+) or the parent/guardian who enrols and pays for services.
- "Tutor" means an instructor engaged or assigned by us to deliver live sessions.
- "Plan" means a tuition package (for example Kids, Teens, or Adults; monthly or annual) as displayed on our tuition and registration pages at the time of purchase.
- "Session" means a scheduled live one-on-one class of the duration applicable to the Student's age bracket.
- "Platform" means our website at alhaneephacademy.com and any related tools, forms, chat, email, or third-party classroom software we use to deliver services.
4. Services
Subject to these Terms and successful payment, we provide:
- Live one-on-one online classes in Arabic, Quranic studies, and/or Islamic studies;
- Placement guidance and tutor matching based on age, level, goals, and schedule;
- Digital study materials and progress feedback as part of the selected Plan;
- Reasonable between-class tutor support via the channels we designate (for example email or messaging).
Session length and frequency follow the Plan selected (typically eight sessions per month / two per week, with session length varying by age bracket). Exact curriculum pathways (including classical texts and module structures) are described on our programme pages and may be adapted by the tutor to the Student's pace and level.
We do not guarantee specific academic outcomes, memorisation milestones, Ijazah, or examination results. Progress depends on attendance, practice, prior knowledge, and engagement.
Free trial or assessment sessions, where offered, are discretionary, limited in duration, and may be withdrawn or modified at any time.
5. Eligibility & Parental Consent
You must have legal capacity to enter a binding contract under applicable law. Where the Student is under 18:
- A parent or legal guardian must complete or approve enrolment and provide accurate contact details;
- The parent/guardian is responsible for supervising the Student's use of the Platform and for payment obligations;
- You consent to the Student participating in live video sessions with assigned tutors under these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
We may request proof of identity, age, or parental authority where reasonably necessary for safety, compliance, or fraud prevention.
6. Registration & Enrolment
Enrolment typically begins when you complete our registration flow and successfully pay the applicable tuition via our designated payment provider (currently Paystack for NGN transactions, unless we notify otherwise).
- You must provide complete, accurate, and up-to-date information. False or misleading information may result in cancellation without refund where permitted by law.
- Registration does not create an employment, partnership, or agency relationship between you and the Company or between you and any Tutor.
- After payment, we aim to match you with a Tutor within a reasonable period (commonly within 24–48 hours on business days), subject to tutor availability and your schedule preferences.
- Prerequisites stated on our programme pages (for example completing intermediate Arabic before Quranic studies) are pedagogical recommendations; we may advise an alternative starting point after assessment.
7. Tuition, Billing & Payments
Tuition fees are those published on our tuition and registration pages at the time of purchase. Fees vary by age bracket (Kids, Teens, Adults) and billing cycle (monthly or annual). You may view prices in USD or NGN. NGN plans are paid online via Paystack. USD plans are paid by bank transfer to Al-Haneeph Academy Ltd's designated USD account (currently Jaiz Bank, account 0024560045, branch 39 Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos State), using the exact USD tuition amount shown at checkout, unless we notify you of another method.
- Monthly Plans: fees cover the stated allotment of sessions for the billing month. Renewal or continued enrolment may require a further payment as communicated by us.
- Annual Plans: fees are payable upfront for the annual term as advertised (including any promotional "pay for 10 months" or similar savings then offered).
- Payments are processed by third-party processors (including Paystack). We do not store full card details on our servers. Your use of the payment gateway is also subject to that provider's terms.
- Prices are exclusive of any bank charges, FX fees, or taxes your bank or payment provider may apply. You are responsible for such charges.
- We may update published prices prospectively. Price changes do not affect tuition already paid for the then-current paid period, except where required by law or clearly agreed.
- Extra sessions, intensive packages, or multi-student discounts—if offered—will be confirmed in writing (including email or chat) before charging.
Failure to pay when due may result in suspension of sessions until payment is received. Chargebacks initiated without first contacting us may lead to suspension and recovery action for unpaid fees and reasonable costs.
8. Cancellation & Refunds
Because our services are personalised live education, refunds are limited as follows, except where mandatory consumer law in your jurisdiction requires otherwise.
8.1 Satisfaction window (first-time enrolments)
For a Student's first paid enrolment with us, if you are not satisfied within thirty (30) days of the payment date and have not completed more than four (4) delivered Sessions under that Plan, you may request a full refund of that payment by emailing info@alhaneephacademy.com (or refunds@alhaneephacademy.com if designated). We may require a brief reason for quality improvement.
8.2 Monthly Plans
You may cancel future monthly renewals at any time by written notice. Fees for the then-current paid month are generally non-refundable once Sessions have begun in that period. Access continues through the paid period unless we agree otherwise.
8.3 Annual Plans
- Full refund if you cancel in writing within seven (7) days of purchase and no Session has been delivered;
- Within ninety (90) days of purchase (after the 7-day window), a prorated refund may be offered at our discretion, typically up to 50% of unused value after deducting Sessions already delivered or scheduled without timely cancellation;
- After ninety (90) days, annual fees are non-refundable except as required by law.
8.4 Non-refundable items
Delivered Sessions (outside the first-time satisfaction window), separately purchased add-on Sessions, and materials already accessed or downloaded are non-refundable.
8.5 Processing
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method where practicable, typically within seven to fourteen (7–14) business days, subject to your bank or Paystack processing times.
8.6 Cancellations by the Academy
If we cancel a Session or cannot continue providing services for reasons within our control, we will offer a makeup Session, credit, Tutor replacement, or refund of the unused portion as appropriate.
9. Scheduling, Attendance & Make-ups
- Regular Session days and times are agreed with your Tutor based on stated preferences and availability.
- To cancel or reschedule a Session with a makeup entitlement, you must give at least twenty-four (24) hours' notice through the agreed channel, except in genuine emergencies.
- Sessions missed without timely notice are generally forfeited and count toward the Plan allotment.
- Unused Sessions do not automatically roll over after a Plan ends or is cancelled, unless we agree in writing.
- Persistent lateness, no-shows, or schedule instability may lead us to pause enrolment or require a revised schedule.
- You are responsible for joining on time with a suitable device, camera/microphone where required, and a stable internet connection.
10. Student & Parent Conduct
You agree that Students, parents, and anyone joining a Session will:
- Treat Tutors and staff with respect; harassment, abuse, discrimination, or threats are prohibited;
- Maintain an appropriate environment for learning (especially for children);
- Not record, stream, or redistribute Sessions without our prior written consent;
- Not share login links, classroom invitations, or materials with unauthorised persons;
- Not solicit Tutors for private arrangements that circumvent Al-Haneeph Academy during an active enrolment or within six (6) months after the last Session, without our written consent;
- Comply with applicable laws and not use our services for unlawful or deceptive purposes.
We may refuse, suspend, or terminate services for serious or repeated breaches without refund for unused Sessions where the breach is attributable to you, to the extent permitted by law.
11. Tutors & Matching
Tutors are selected and assigned by us. They may be employees, contractors, or other engaged instructors. Matching considers age, course, level, language, gender preference where stated, and schedule.
You may request a Tutor change for legitimate reasons (teaching fit, availability, or conduct concerns). We will make reasonable efforts to reassign. We do not guarantee a particular Tutor indefinitely.
Tutors are expected to follow our standards of professionalism, authenticity of Islamic instruction as described in our public materials, and safeguarding practices for minors. Concerns should be reported promptly to info@alhaneephacademy.com.
12. Curriculum & Academic Matters
Our curricula (including pathways referencing classical texts such as Al-Qaidah An-Noraniah, Madinah Arabic books, Al-Ajrumiyyah, Tuhfatul Atfal, Al-Jazariyyah, As-Sakhawiyyah, and Mutoon Talib al-Ilm materials) are educational frameworks. Module durations are estimates based on typical weekly study loads and may vary.
Certificates, where issued, recognise completion of a level or programme under our internal standards and do not constitute accreditation by a government ministry or university unless expressly stated in writing.
Religious instruction is provided in good faith according to authentic Islamic sources as understood and taught by our instructors. Differences of scholarly opinion may exist; we encourage respectful enquiry.
13. Intellectual Property
The website design, logos, branding, lesson plans, worksheets, recordings (where permitted), documentation, and other materials we provide remain the intellectual property of Al-Haneeph Academy Ltd or its licensors. Classical Islamic texts themselves may be public domain or third-party copyrighted editions; our curated presentations and notes remain ours.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use materials solely for the enrolled Student's personal educational use during the enrolment. You may not copy, sell, publish, or commercially exploit our materials without prior written permission.
14. Technology & Platform Use
Classes are delivered online using tools we designate (for example video conferencing software). You are responsible for compatible devices, sufficient bandwidth, and a suitable learning space.
We are not liable for interruptions caused by your internet provider, device failure, power outages, or third-party platform outages beyond our reasonable control. Where a Session fails due to such issues on your side after it has started, the Session may still be counted unless the Tutor agrees to a short extension or makeup at their discretion.
You must not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, scrape, or compromise our website or systems.
15. Communications
By enrolling, you consent to receive service communications (schedules, payment confirmations, Tutor matching, policy updates) by email, SMS, WhatsApp, or similar channels using the contacts you provide.
Marketing messages are sent only where permitted by law and your preferences; you may opt out of marketing at any time without affecting essential service messages.
16. Disclaimers
Services and the website are provided on an "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, we disclaim warranties not expressly stated in these Terms, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free access, that all content is complete or current at all times, or that third-party tools will meet your requirements.
17. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Al-Haneeph Academy Ltd and its directors, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or educational opportunity, arising from your use of the services.
Our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to a paid enrolment shall not exceed the total tuition fees you paid to us for the Plan giving rise to the claim during the three (3) months preceding the event.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited under Nigerian law.
18. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Al-Haneeph Academy Ltd and its personnel from claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these Terms, misuse of the Platform, or infringement of third-party rights, except to the extent caused by our wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
19. Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate access immediately if:
- You breach these Terms or our policies;
- Payment fails, is reversed fraudulently, or remains unpaid;
- Conduct endangers Tutors, staff, or other students;
- We are required to do so by law or regulatory authority.
You may stop using services by cancelling as described in Section 8. Provisions that by nature should survive (including intellectual property, liability limits, indemnity, and governing law) survive termination.
20. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delay or failure to perform due to events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, labour disputes, government actions, epidemics, widespread internet failures, or utility outages. We will resume performance as soon as reasonably practicable and may offer credits or schedule adjustments where appropriate.
21. Privacy
Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of your agreement with us. By using our services you acknowledge that processing described there is necessary to deliver enrolment, payment, tutoring, and support.
22. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date will change accordingly. Material changes will be notified via the website and/or email where practicable. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, except where consent is required by law.
23. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The courts of Lagos State, Nigeria shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections that may apply in your place of residence.
Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us and attempt good-faith resolution within thirty (30) days.
24. General Provisions
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy (and any written Plan confirmation we issue) constitute the entire agreement regarding the services, superseding prior informal discussions.
- Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder continues in effect.
- Waiver. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of future enforcement.
- Assignment. You may not assign your rights without our consent. We may assign to a successor or affiliate in connection with a reorganisation or sale.
- Language. These Terms are in English. Translations, if any, are for convenience only.
- Third-party rights. Except for Tutors and personnel entitled to benefit from liability and indemnity clauses, no third party has rights to enforce these Terms under applicable third-party rights legislation unless expressly stated.
